Last updated 2026-04-19 · Version 1.0 · The Mini Colorbench
We don't collect any personal data. The app runs entirely on your device. The only data that ever leaves your phone is an anonymous crash report if the app crashes — and only so we can fix the bug.
Who we are
The Mini Colorbench ("the app") is developed and operated by:
Philipp Buchwald (trading as Pixel Paladin)
Contact: hi@pixel-paladin.de
Website: pixel-paladin.de
What the app does
The Mini Colorbench is a companion app for miniature painters. It stores palettes, paint collections, hobby projects, and notes locally on your device. We do not have a backend server. Your data never leaves your phone unless you explicitly export it.
Data we collect
1. Nothing about you
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, address, IP address, location, or any other identifying information.
- We do not require an account.
- The app does not track your behavior (no analytics, no ads, no fingerprinting, no advertising ID).
- The app does not sell or share any data, because it has no data to share.
2. Crash diagnostics (via Sentry)
If the app crashes, an anonymous crash report is sent to Sentry (sentry.io) so we can diagnose and fix the bug. A crash report includes:
- The stack trace (code path that failed)
- Device model + OS version (e.g. "Pixel 8, Android 15")
- App version (e.g. 1.0.0)
- A truncated breadcrumb of which screens were visited in the last few minutes (screen names only, no content)
A crash report does not include:
- Your name, email, or any identifying information
- Your palettes, paints, projects, or any content you created
- Your exact IP address (Sentry receives it but we have it anonymized/discarded on arrival)
- Advertising identifiers
Sentry is used under their Data Processing Agreement. Data is retained for 90 days then deleted.
3. Google Play Store
When you install the app from Google Play, Google collects standard install telemetry under Google's Privacy Policy. We do not control this and we do not see your individual install/uninstall data — only aggregated counts.
Data we do not collect
- Analytics about feature usage
- Advertising data
- Device contacts, calendar, photos, or files (the app does not request these permissions)
- Microphone, camera, or location (the app does not request these permissions)
Your rights under GDPR
As an EU/EEA user, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of any data we have about you. (In practice: we have none. Crash reports are not tied to an identity, so we cannot look you up.)
- Deletion — request deletion of any data. (Same caveat — we cannot identify your crashes.)
- Object / Opt-out — you can disable crash reporting by uninstalling the app.
- Lodge a complaint — with your national data protection authority. The German supervisory authority is the BfDI.
Children
The app is rated for general audiences (PEGI 3 / IARC Everyone). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Because we do not collect data from anyone, this is automatic.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top and note the change in the app's About screen. Material changes will be announced in the app's release notes on Google Play.
